I have been working with children for a long time. I came to California from Wyoming, as a nanny over in Leucadia, at the age of 17 and started school at Miramar College, where I took child development and my basic general education. After that, I had a small daycare in Poway but, after only 14 months in business the house, which I was renting, was sold out from under me. While finishing school and after, I taught preschool at Our Gang Children’s center in Scripps Ranch for 3 years. I finished my AA degree; I have an Associates of Science in Child Development. Due to the cost of living and low pay I went to work for The Bombay Company, where I found out I really missed and wanted to work with children. So, back to school I went for my teaching credentials, while student teaching I found out I didn’t care for the school systems. So, I went back to school again, this time in the Administration, for the Education of Children. While going to school, I took a nanny job in Solana Beach. During that time I found out I was pregnant and decided to enjoy my new daughter while being a nanny. After our move to Escondido, I got a teaching job at a local elementary school. When it was time to look for daycare, I came to the realization that good childcare was hard to find and that is how I came to the place I am now. I love children and enjoy helping them grow. My daughter is now 13 years old and I love what I do and feel blessed that I found a career that I love and one that I feel is so needed and important.
